COPE: Mbappé and Konaté Expected to Need 10 to 15 Days to Recover

COPE journalist Miguel Ángel Díaz discussed the injury situation at Real Madrid on the programme, stating that Kylian Mbappé and Ibrahima Konaté are expected to be available for the match against Villarreal, while Federico Valverde’s potential return remains uncertain.
Díaz said: “Mbappé has a hyperextension injury to the posterior capsule of his left knee. That is exactly what is stated in the medical report. The club has said that he will need between 10 and 15 days, while also acknowledging that the target is for him to be fit to face Villarreal.
“If he does not make it in time, he should be available for the following Champions League match against Roma. However, at the moment, it looks like he has a chance of making the Villarreal game. Konaté appears to be in a similar situation.
“It feels as though there is some kind of curse. Do you remember what happened in Elche? Three players ended up wearing the wrong shirts. Now both Konaté and Mbappé have picked up injuries. But I repeat, neither injury appears to be serious, and both are expected to be available against Villarreal.
“Then there is Federico Valverde. According to the club’s announcement following the Madrid derby against Atlético Madrid, he suffered a grade-three sprain to his left ankle.
“We will have to wait and see whether he can make the Villarreal game, or whether he will instead have to wait until the Champions League match against Roma.”
