In the 2026 China League Two season, the league will adopt a home-and-away format with divisions. The 24 participating teams are divided into the North Division and the South Division, each containing 12 teams. Within each division, the teams will compete in a double round-robin format, with each team playing a total of 22 matches. After the first stage concludes, the top 4 teams from each of the North and South Divisions—totaling 8 teams—will advance to the promotion group; the bottom 8 teams from each division—totaling 16 teams—will be split into Group A for relegation survival and Group B for relegation survival, with 8 teams in each group.
